About the Giclée Process
The giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") printing process was originally
developed in 1989 as a method of creating digitial fine art prints. The word
giclée is French for "to spray ink." Mary works traditionally in oil,
watercolor or woodblock prints, then creates a high quality digital image from
the finished artwork. Giclée prints are produced on watercolor papers, canvas
or heavy glossy paper. The technology provides incredible detail and brilliant
color. The resolution is higher than traditional offset. Archival inks produce
prints that have a longer life than colorants used in many forms of original
art,and considerably longer than traditional photographic or printing techniques. |
The digital images of these Reproductions provide
a close approximation of the print.
